On todays National Talkblack via NIRS – NIRS – National Indigenous Radio Service we had:

Michael Yam – Mayor of Kowanyama having a catch up on what’s been happening in the community throughout the year.
Also spoke about Housing Advocacy, Road Works and New Airport Terminal.

Hon Warren Entsch MP, Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Northern Australia. As part of a Federal Parliament inquiry into economic engagement with Traditional Owners, Members of Parliament are travelling to the Northern Territory.

The Northern Australia Committee is holding public hearings in Darwin, Katherine and Alice Springs, and will hear evidence from Land Councils, Native Title holders, Indigenous business leaders, local councils and other stakeholders. The Committee will hold public hearings in Darwin, Katherine and Alice Springs.
